Two trustees of local charity Frome Birth Talk (FBT) took on the Tough Mudder challenge on 17th August, raising more than £800.
The charity, formed in 2017, provides a free counselling service and wellbeing groups and activities for pregnant women and new mothers in the Frome area.
Fellow trustee and local midwife Karen Patrick said, “Suzy and Jane did an amazing job at Tough Mudder, following in the footsteps of our lovely supporter Mia in 2018. It costs £227 each week to provide our counselling service, so events like this provide us with vital funds and enable us to reach the many women who need extra support through what can be a very challenging time, as well as a joyful one.
“In addition to our counselling service, we offer a weekly bump, mum and baby drop-in group on Wednesday mornings, a monthly breathing and relaxation class for pregnant women and a monthly postnatal yoga class run by Emilie of Motherslove.
“In response to requests from mums, we’re planning to offer first aid training in the near future and are keen to hear from other activities local mums would like to see.
“Everything we do is geared towards promoting wellbeing among mothers, reducing isolation and facilitating support networks, for the mutual benefit of everyone involved. Thanks again to Suzy and Jane for getting muddy, soaked and exhausted to help us do it!”
