FROME’S town crier, Mike Bishop, will be holding a fundraising event to raise money for his town crier festival in the summer.
The 12th annual Frome Town Crier festival is planned for 16th June, and Mike and his team need £1,400 to put on the show.
On Friday 26th January, Mike and his team will be holding the first Dog Race Night that is a new idea that involves racing fluffy dogs on a race track made by Mike.
“You can buy one of the six dogs in each of the races, and also bet on each dog in an organised tote,” said Mike. “I can guarantee that you will all have a good time and want to come back for another race night!”
The event takes place at the Frome Cricket Club on Friday 26th January – first race at 7.30pm.
Mike said, “If anyone wishes to run a race night for their funds, I will bring the track and dogs along to your venue, and organise the evening for a donation to the Town Crier Festival.”
