FROME Town Football Club has announced the appointment of a new staff for their first team, including a manager, assistant manager, and coach.
Nick Bunyard has stepped up to manage the team for the 2015/16 season, following Adrian Foster’s departure from the squad last month. Nick will be joined by new assistant manager Paul Milsom and first team coach Josh Jefferies.
Nick is a former Frome Town player himself, and was a part of the team who won the Toolstation Division One title in 2002.
In an interview with the club’s website Nick said, “I’ve always held Frome close to my heart as it’s my local side, I captained the team and have supported them over the years. I turned down several different roles in the summer with other clubs and it’s probably the only job I would have taken.
“Frome Town has great potential and I have no doubt if we can navigate what is going to be a very difficult season we can establish ourselves as a genuinely strong Southern Premier League side.”
Club chairman Jeremy Alderman said of the new appointment, “We are delighted that Nick has agreed to join us; he is full of enthusiasm and can see what we are trying to do at Frome.
“Nick will be given the time he needs to get things right and the most important thing is for everybody to get behind the new management team. It’s a new start for everybody, the players included.”
Nick will be helped in the role by his vastly experience colleagues.
Assistant manager Paul Milsom has played for Bristol City, Cardiff City and Oxford United before dropping into non-leaguewith Gloucester City, Trowbridge Town, Tiverton Town, Bath City and Chippenham Town. He then moved on to managerial and coaching roles at Mangotsfield United and Paulton Rovers.
New coach Josh Jefferies has played for Paulton Rovers, Swindon Supermarine, Bath City and Chippenham Town, and was a member of the staff at Paulton Rovers.
This season Josh has been playing for Larkhall Athletic but will start forming the new-look bench at Frome Town.
Frome Town’s next fixture is an FA Cup draw this Friday 11th September against Chippenham Town. Kick off will be at the Blindmans Brewery Stadium on Berkley Road at 7.45pm.
