FROME’S Tri.art Theatre school is already busy preparing for their summer projects at the Merlin with rehearsals already underway for their most ambitious show to date; the legendary Les Miserables (schools edition).
Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Tickets are already selling fast so don’t delay in booking: www.merlintheatre.co.uk or 01373 465949. The show is 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th August. This show will be performed by the senior students.
Equally exciting is the junior project as this year they tackle the energetic, fun Disney’s Jungle Book for Kids. Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS features a host of colorful characters and favourite songs from the movie. Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, a human boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle.
There are places available on this five-day workshop as no audition or experience is required. The students will not only have fun, make friends, build confidence but they will gain skills in acting, singing and dancing, whilst learning stage craft and character development. All participants will have the opportunity to take part in the Arts Awards to gain a Bronze qualification.
The junior summer school is for ages 8 plus, costs £60 and is on 7 -11th August with a public performance on Friday 11th August at 6pm. To request an application pack e.mail tri.arttheatreschool@gmail.com
