FROME’S famous Gentle Street was once again used in the filming of the BBC period drama Poldark last week.
Rumoured to be the final time, with the popular series ending after this season, the stars Eleanor Tomlinson and Aidan Turner, who play lead roles Demelza and Ross Poldark, took to the cobbled streets of Gentle Street.
With a bird’s eye view of the historic street, which is transformed into the streets of 18th century Truro for the show, Frome Times reader Colin Read was able to take a photo of Aidan and Eleanor, whilst the rest of Frome struggled to catch a sighting of the famous actors behind security barriers, used to shield filming from the public.
A release date for season five has not yet been announced, but is expected to be some time in 2019.
