Frome Weavers Spinners and Dyers group have a new home.
They say, “The additional space here means that this well equipped and experienced group of crafters can at last run workshops and courses for those interested in weaving and spinning, plus of course we are now able to accept new members.
“We wish to say a huge thank you to Frome Society for Local Study for their generous grant, which has enabled us to purchase six looms from George Weil &Sons Ltd of Guildford which will be used for the first time on our ‘Introduction to Weaving – 1 day taster’ on Saturday 9th November 10.00am -4.00pm, here in our new home at Baywell House, Tucker Close, Wallbridge.
“You will be using a 4 shaft table loom which will be warped and ready for you to start weaving straight away. You will weave a variety of patterns and will take home the resulting sampler, together with the printed instructions followed. The £60 fee will include all materials and tuition, plus written instructions, tea, coffee and biscuits. You will need to bring a packed lunch, notebook and pencil.
