Frome Medical Practice has just welcomed into their surgery two registrars, Dr Helen Griffiths and Dr Alex Clark. Both doctors are now working at the Frome practice as part of their specialist GP training.
Before commencing her medical training on a graduate entry course in Wales, Dr Griffiths had earlier completed a degree in psychology before taking some time out working abroad and gaining experience working in clinical psychology. Dr Clark also undertook his medical training in Wales before choosing to work in both New Zealand and Australia. Both doctors are now near the final leg of their training to come fully qualified GPs.
“I am really excited to be here at the Frome Medical Practice,” says Dr Griffiths. “Everyone, including of course the patients, has made me feel very much at home.” Dr Griffiths already lives in the area with her young family. Once she has completed her training as a GP, Dr Griffiths would be keen to develop a specialist interest in paediatrics.
Dr Clark is equally pleased to be completing his training in Frome. In addition to working at the Frome Medical Practice, Dr Clark also spends one day a week in the dermatology department at the RUH in Bath, an area of medicine that Dr Clark has a specialist interest in.
“The practice here is a great place to work and train, “says Dr Clark. “Everyone is incredibly supportive and for a GP practice, the facilities and opportunities available really are most impressive.”
Dr Helen Kingston, senior partner at the practice said, “We are delighted to have both Helen and Alex working with us here. As a practice, we are utterly committed to supporting new and young entrants into the profession. This is just part of our investment in the future of GP practice.
“We are very pleased that Helen and Alex have both chosen the Frome Medical Practice to help them with the next stage of their respective careers. Everyone here wishes them both every success.”
