FEBRUARY was certainly brightened up for Suzy Mitchell, the winner of Active and In Touch’s luxury Valentine hamper.
Suzi is one of the longest serving volunteers, joining A&IT in 2013. She shared that from the very beginning of her volunteering she “Immediately became hooked on the ethos, simplicity and purpose of wanting to communicate with and help those people who may be isolated. It’s a cliché, I know” she said, “but being able to ‘give back’ even just a little is very fulfilling.”
Tracey Rawlins, community fundraiser, said she was thrilled with the response to the Valentine hamper raffle which raised almost £600 for Active and In Touch. She praised the positive donation of contents from the local business community, which included a bespoke three-course dinner from Keren Hayden at Event Horizon, champagne, wine, chocolates, luxury candle and baked goodies, and everyone who had supported the raffle,
“A massive thank you to all who entered and special thanks to the local businesses who donated to this great prize, Keren Hayden, Martin Earley of The Cornerhouse, Jo Tamplin of Mood Foods, Choc on Choc, True Grace, Jessica Cullen of Cullen Bakes, and Lucy Westcott from Quirky Collectables; a fabulous community effort!”
