ACTIVE and In Touch, the Frome-based charity that helps combat loneliness, is running a virtual pet show to help raise funds.
The organisers explain, “The idea is to email photos of your pets, which includes cats, dogs, rabbits, rodents and any other pet! A great team of judges will select the best 6 in each round with the 1st place from each going to Best In Show. Rosettes are being provided by Garston Vets and the top prize is a portrait of the winning pet by local artist Violet Von Riot from The Bespoke Collage Company.
“Pets can be entered from anywhere in the country as prizes will be posted. With lockdown continuing and limits on capacities for events, virtual pet shows are becoming very popular.”
Tracey Rawlins, community fundraiser said, “I entered my dogs into a few virtual dog shows over the last year and they are great fun so I decided to run one for Active and In Touch, but open to all pets as they are sometimes forgotten. This is basically a celebration of our pets, large and small!”
The rounds are £2 each and include:
Dogs – Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Golden Oldie (over 9 years), Best Rescue, Fancy Dress, Funniest Photo, Best Friends; Cats – Beautiful Pedigree, Most Marvellous Moggie; Best Photobomb; Cutest Rodent; Lovely Bunny; Best Pet – open to any pet.
