FROME’s Volunteer of the Month for August is Terry Stewart.
Terry was nominated by FromeFM presenter, Rupert Kirkham, for the outstanding work he has put into the radio station over the past 7 years. During his time with FromeFM Terry has designed, scheduled and managed the operations, and kept the station on the air during not one, but two studio moves!
“FromeFM is a complex media production organisation that transmits a 24/7 radio service to 23,000 potential listeners on FM locally and many more online, with a government requirement that it be a public service,” explained Rupert. “We manage and have trained over 100 volunteers who make shows, record events in the community and run the administration of the station.
“At the heart of the organisation is the professional recording and transmission of radio programmes from our broadcast-quality studios. Without Terry and his support team, none of the rest can happen.”
