A new group has been formed to fundraise, support and promote the activities of the town’s library.
The Friends of Frome Library CIC has been launched by 16 volunteers and formed to support Frome’s much-loved library, which is located on Justice Lane.
More volunteers are encouraged to sign up to join the group. They will have a stall outside the library at the Frome Independent Market on Sunday 2nd March, where people can meet the Friends and sign up to help.
One of the activities the group has been focusing on is fundraising to reintroduce printed newspapers to the facility after Somerset Council removed them from libraries across the county last year.
The group has also been focusing on creating an official logo and enlisted the help of local artists and graphic designers to create a range of logos. At the market on 2nd March, the winning design will be selected following public votes.
Votes can be made online or in person at the library.

The Friends of Frome Library hope to launch a website soon, but in the meantime, the group can be contacted via email at friendsoffromelibrary@gmail.com or via the Frome Library Facebook page.
