Young people in Frome have the opportunity to vote to elect new representatives at the Somerset Youth Parliament elections.
With the support of schools, colleges and the wider community, Somerset will elect three Members of Youth Parliament to each run on a campaign of their choice.
Elected Members of Youth Parliament debate, campaign for and influence important decisions, working with community representatives and politicians to make change and identify opportunities to create better outcomes for children and young people across the county.
Members of Youth Parliament represent Somerset’s young people and their interests. They go to school, college or a youth club in the county and campaign both locally and nationally on the issues that young people are passionate about.
Somerset Member of Youth Parliament, Emma Brown, said, “The running, voting and the election of members of Youth Parliament gives young people the power to create real change and make our mark. Get involved, you will not regret it.”
Candidates have produced manifestos outlining their election pledges and can be found at somersetyouthparliament.org.uk/elections/ Voting closes on Monday 15th December.
Members of Youth Parliament are supported by an Advisory Group of self-selected young people from all backgrounds, who bring a range of experiences, opinions, and abilities with them. The group is free to join and always welcomes new people.
