THIS weekend saw a fantastic display of girls rugby at Frome RFC as the club hosted The Walcats. The Walcats are made up of players from Walcot RFC, Bradford on Avon RFC and Frome RFC, with their U13s, U15s and U18s all playing fixtures.
In what can only be described as a humdinger, the Walcats U18s ran out victors, 19 points to 12 over the girls from Winscombe RFC, in a game which ebbed and flowed for the whole contest. Both teams should be applauded on a fantastic game which was high on skill, tension and drama.
A tough day at the office for the Walcats U15s who went down against a very strong and powerful Winscombe team, but the girls never let their heads drop and they battled right to the final whistle, showing amazing commitment.
