Get The Blessing frontman Jake McMurchie and the John Law Trio explore the music of a legendary hard bop saxman at the next Frome Jazz Club event on Sunday 25th June at the Cornerhouse in Frome.
Keith Harrison-Broninski from the club says, “For many, Sonny Rollins is not only the composer of many cornerstone jazz standards but the archetypal tenor player, rhythmically driving and endlessly inventive. Celebrated the world over for his 70 (!) year career, he’s particularly beloved of New Yorkers, who are campaigning to renaming in his honour the Manhattan bridge he used to practice on to avoid disturbing his neighbours.
“Doors 7pm, entry free – sure to be standing room only again, so early arrival is advised especially as for this one we hope to have some treats available from the bar.”
