WE are all Sonambulists goes live on 1st July for the Frome Festival and takes listeners on a walk through the history, mystery and music of Frome.
The guide? A ghost called Aldred.
The organisers report, “Created especially for the Frome Festival, audience members only need headphones, a smart phone and a love of stories. It will remain live however after the festival for the enjoyment of residents and visitors to Frome.
“This sonic amble embraces Frome past and present, with tales of witchcraft, dyers, riots and ghosts. Meet John Webb Singer who cast the statue of Boadicea on the Embankment, gaze at a headless hunky punk, hear the enthusiastic wheezing of a lover of lamps, and listen to the story of Margaret, who still sorely misses her husband. If ever there was a love letter to Frome, this is it.
“Part art, part drama, part history, this is the first in what is hoped will be a series of audio experiences by this brand new, Frome based group of musicians, writers and actors. And thankfully it is completely Covid-19 safe as it takes place outdoors and can be experienced in a group or alone as each audience member wishes.
“This collaborative work features music by young folk duo Currer Belle (https://currerbellmusic.com), mixing and producing by Tristan Powell, characters performed by Mark Meadows and Deryn Edwards, and it was written and conceived by Miranda Wilson.
“Audience members simply start outside Lotte’s Bistro on Catherine Street. Then go to soundcloud.com/user-956620939 or Soundcloud.com and search for ‘We are all Sonambulists’. Press play. Your ghost awaits…”
