Christ Church is holding a wedding festival in October to celebrate marriage, showcasing personal wedding day stories and wedding outfits from across the decades.
The festival will begin with Evensong at 6pm on Sunday 5th October, and the church will be open for visitors from 10am to 4pm, Monday 6th to Saturday 11th October. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted.
A spokesperson for the church, Olivia Date, said, “All are welcome to tour the church, read the wedding day stories and admire the wedding outfits, perhaps while enjoying tea and a cupcake. You will also have the chance to share your own wedding day story and put in a request for your favourite wedding hymn.
“The festival will close with a special Songs of Praise on Sunday 12th October at 6pm, featuring your chosen hymns, wedding cake and prosecco. Hats and veils are optional.”
