FROME Town FC has welcomed back spectators to its grounds and is encouraging the community to support the club and enjoy live sport again.
Frome Town FC’s football & operations director, Gary Collinson, told Frome Times, “It’s great to have fans coming back into the ground, they are the life blood of the club.
“The restrictions on numbers (400) on one hand are disappointing for a club of our size and potential, however we are extremely happy to be able to safely accommodate those fans through our online ticketing and social distancing measures. Live sport is back in Frome and we encourage everyone to get back to supporting your local team.”
About the ‘Covid-secure’ measures in place at the ground, the club explains, “Track and Trace – there will be a QR code to scan with your mobile device, you will not be able to enter the site without proof of completion. This must be completed every time you visit the ground. Those with non-smart phones will need to fill in a manual form at the gate (which takes longer).
“Your data – we can assure you will are not doing anything with the data. This will remain stored securely online and only accessed if we need to use the track and trace system. After a safe period of time (typically 30 days – all data will be destroyed).
“Refreshments and toilets – we will be operating a one-way system through various parts of the club house. Please follow the directions or stewards’ instructions. The bar will be currently operating on a can only basis – we hope that you understand that whilst we comply with Covid regulations we are putting these temporary measures in place. Toilets will be in the clubhouse – please follow the guidance, be prepared to queue outside the clubhouse before being let in, so give yourself an extra couple of minutes.
“Gates – the main gate will be the only open entrance to the game, please do not attempt to come in via any other entrance. Anyone found making their own way in through other means will be asked to leave and further action may be taken. Please be patient when coming in through the main gate as we get up to speed with checks and the digital ticketing systems. Please complete your track and chase in the queue to save time.
“Seating and standing – the main stand and community stand will have rows taped off that should not be used. Please consider whether you need to use a seat to allow those that are elderly, disabled or children the opportunity to be seated. Please use the length and breadth of the space available. We know there are some pinch points in our stadium layout – so please use your common sense in these zones and maintain social distancing.”
