CHEESE – It’s called Frome Cheese Show for a reason! Not only does the Cheese Pavilion house over 1,500 cheese entries, there’s also lots of Cheese for sale, the Cheese Bar and the Cookery Theatre.
MUSIC- NEW FOR 2017 – The Horse Shoe will feature a music stage and artisan food stalls. Live music all day including a performance by West Country heroes The Wurzels!
ARENA ATTRACTIONS – With a nonstop programme of events in both the Main and Village Green Arenas as well as the NEW Agri-Village Demo Arena you won’t know where to look first!
AGRI-VILLAGE – This year’s Mole Valley Farmers Agri Village is being totally redeveloped to give visitors the chance to see, touch and discover farming practices. It is going to be a hive of activity with livestock judging, Tractor Ted, the Sheep Show, machinery displays, the FDC Law Animal Nursery and a new demo arena
FAMILY DOG SHOW – Also NEW for this year – the Garston Vets Fun Dog Show! An open to all, enter on the day, good fun experience for dogs and their owners.
SHOPPING – Retail therapy; cheese show style! With over 350 trade stands located throughout the showground.
EXHIBITORS – It wouldn’t be an agricultural show without the thousands of exhibitors who come to showcase talents. Think you’re up to the challenge?
COUNTRY PURSUITS – Head down to the lake where you’ll find the Wiltshire Gun Dog Club, fly fishing demos and casting classes, have-a-go scurry competitions, laser clay pigeon shooting and demo trade stands
PLUS – Fun Fair and Inflatables – Vintage Machinery – Circus Whizz skills and games, Rainbow Ghecko bubble fairies and much more!
![Town-wide programme brings month of social activities in May
A month-long programme of activities and events is set to take place across the town in May as part of an initiative encouraging residents to connect with themselves, each other and local places.
The scheme, Frome Connects, will run throughout the month and includes a mix of social activities, creative events and informal meet-ups in community spaces.
Highlights include the return of Dress Up Fridays, which began during lockdown and invites people to wear formal clothing or fancy dress and turn the town into their catwalk each Friday.
Set-piece moments include a Kate Bush-themed flashmob (Running Up That [Catherine] Hill) on 30th May, followed by a bell peal at St John’s Church where the bells will play Running Up That Hill.
There will also be a whole-town drone photo on Friday 30th May, with everyone encouraged to ‘look up’ at around 12.30pm.
