Counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) has teamed up with Somerset CCG and Nordic Walking UK to offer a free Nordic walking exercise class for people recovering from cancer or a life threatening condition.
Fundraising Manager Ruth Knagg says “The benefits of exercise to support mental health and aid recovery are enormous and are pleased to add this to our services in Frome.
“If you’re recovering from treatment for cancer or another life threatening condition, Nordic walking could be a fantastic way to build up your strength and fitness while boosting your mood. The Nordic walking course starts on Monday 23rd September at 3pm at the Old Showfield, Frome BA11 2AH. No experience of Nordic walking is necessary and all equipment will be provided.
“Participants are recommended to consult a health professional before signing up and should have a reasonable level of mobility; if in doubt please contact the course organiser.”
