Over the summer Frome Town Council is asking people of Frome to share events, stories and photos of its #ActiveSummer.
Councillor Peter Macfadyen said, “If you’re doing something active this summer – whether it’s fitness classes for people with limited movement, walking netball, taking part in cycle to work day on 15th August, swimming, dance classes, using the outdoor gym or joining a running club – we want to hear about it.”
“With many people already juggling lots of commitments the recommended 150 minutes of moderate activity can sometimes feel like a step too far, but #ActiveSummer will help by showcasing all the activities people can get involved with locally.
“The advantages of being physically active are well known – it can also boost confidence and improve mental health.
“There are also environmental benefits to being more active such as choosing to walk or use public transport instead of taking the car so join in and let’s see all the different ways residents of Frome can get active this summer.”
Running until Friday 31st August #ActiveSummer aims to show just how many different ways there are to get active in Frome.
If anyone has anything they would like to share please email them to info@frometowncouncil.gov .uk or use #ActiveSummer on social media.
