Are you committed, passionate, empathetic and a good listener? Do you believe that everyone has an equal right to have their voice heard? If so, Swan Advocacy, the independent advocacy charity, would love to hear from you.
The charity says, “We provide free and independent advocacy services; enabling people to have their views and wishes heard and ensuring they can access the support and services they are entitled to.
“We are looking for volunteers with a willingness to help others have their voices heard. We have a number of volunteering opportunities available across Somerset:
• Mental health advocacy volunteer – community or hospital based
• Dementia advocacy volunteer
• Relevant person’s representative volunteer
• Generic advocacy volunteer – specialising in learning difficulties
• Chaperone volunteer.
“Just a couple of hours a week can make a huge difference.”
