WORLD Day of Prayer will be celebrated at St Catherine’s Church, Park Road, Frome on Friday 6th March at 2.30pm.
Organisers say, “Prepared by the Christian women of Zimbabwe, this is a really lovely act of worship with the theme of ‘Rise! Take your mat and walk. A very positive theme for a country that has had a very difficult historical time. We will reflect on the difficulties and unrest that have plagued their country over many years.
“However, it really is a very positive lively service and they have hopes for the future and invite us to support them as they continue on their journey towards full reconciliation.
“World Day of Prayer is an international inter-church organisation which enables us to hear the thoughts of women in all parts of the world; their hopes, concerns and prayers. The Day of Prayer is celebrated in over 120 countries with nearly 120 languages sharing the same service. It begins in Samoa and travels throughout the world. Through Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, before finishing in American Samoa some 38 hours later.
“Everyone is welcome so please join us and also share in the refreshments in the hall afterwards. For further details of the service visit the WWDP website, wwdp.org.uk or speak to someone from the Frome churches who will support and take part in this service.”
