WOULD you like to join the 1,800 Community Connectors already trained up in Mendip sharing information?
The Community Connector project started in Frome over eight years ago as a partnership between Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Council and is now being replicated both nationwide and internationally due to the success of the project.
There is a huge amount of support available to help people improve their health and wellbeing, but often they do not know how access it and this is where Community Connectors can help.
“From Active and in Touch, food banks, health walks, benefits calculators, dementia support, free one-to-one support or even getting assistance to obtain a Blue Badge, there is support is available,” said a spokesperson for the Lets Connect team at Frome Medical Practice who organise the scheme.
“The more people there are that know about the support that is available within the community, the more we can all support each other. Community Connectors are everyday members of the community from all walks of life who have trained to signpost and support others in the community.
“Would you like to be a Community Connector and help your community? Why not book today to come along to one of our free one-hour Community Connector training sessions at the Frome Medical Practice.
“Our next Community Connector Training sessions are on Thursday 26th August – 11am – 12.30pm and Friday 15th September – 10.30am – 12.00pm.”
