A FROME poet and author will be launching her new memoir with a special spoken word event at the Merlin Theatre next month.
Rosie Jackson will be hosting ‘Words Onstage’ from 7.45pm on Friday 4th November.
Local poet Crysse Morrison says, “Rosie has achieved huge acclaim for her poetry and she has now written her memoir, an intimate account which is reviewed as ‘moving and engrossing – intense recall of a life passionately lived’.
“Rosie will also introduce other local writers in a unique prose-performance event, on stage at the Merlin in a ‘bistro’ atmosphere, so the audience can sit at tables with the readers to enjoy delicious tapas as they listen.
“Tickets are £11.50 including supper, or if you don’t want to eat just pay £5.50 for a seat in the auditorium. There will be books on sale by each of the autobiographers at the end of the readings, which start at 7.45pm.
“This spoken word performance, specially devised to promote local memoir writers, is another first for Frome, and we think anyone with an interest in words, love, or life, will find it fascinating!”
