THE June heat didn’t deter two Frome lads from raising money for Fair Frome as they recently completed a challenge that saw them walk from Beckington to Frome to raise some much-needed funds for the local charity.
Eight-year-old Hans Hopkins, and his six-year-old brother Bror raised an impressive £595 for the charity following their six-mile long walk last month – and they popped down to Fair Frome to hand them the money where they were thanked and congratulated by charity members.
The boys’ father, John Hopkins, says that while the walk was tough given the temperature, the boys rose to the challenge. “My wife Linnea and I are incredibly proud of Hans and Bror for undertaking and completing this long walk for charity,” he said, “It was very hot and by far the longest distance the boys have walked so our hearts swelled with pride.”
John said that the boys chose to raise money for Fair Frome as they wanted to give back to the local community that has given their family so much over the last few years.
Fair Frome have thanked the boys for their fundraising efforts, “We are incredibly impressed by Hans and Bror and their fantastic fundraising for Fair Frome and want to give them a big thank you for supporting us. We hope their efforts will inspire others to support Fair Frome during this busy period.”
