A CREATIVE half-day workshop for young people aged 10+ , ‘Idea, Matter, Form?’ will run as part of BBC’s Get Creative event and Black Swan Arts Young Open exhibition, this Saturday 17th March.
The workshop will be led by Fiona Campbell (artist), Aya Kobayashi (curator) and Stephen Ives (Eastville Project Space), bringing art practices that interweave sculpture, audio and drawing for participants to test their ideas.
With an emphasis on the creative process, the workshop is an opportunity to explore notions about materiality and experiment with sculptural elements and sound, combining found and reclaimed materials with technology. A range of materials will be provided including electronic instruments, sequence mics, found and reclaimed sculptural components.
This workshop ‘Idea, Matter, Form?’ is the third of a series to engage young people in creativity, sponsored by Visual Arts South West. It will run alongside the annual exhibition that showcases a range of young people’s inspiring work.
The workshop is free, but there is a material cost of £6.50 per person. The workshop will be held on the first floor of Black Swan Arts, Frome on Saturday March 17th, from 2.30pm-5pm. To book visit www. event-brite.com (https://goo.gl/ SNdgny), spaces are limited.
