As part of a science topic where they learned about the heart, Year 6 at Avanti Park School ran a whole school fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation recently.
The school reports, “All children and staff dressed in red or as an NHS worker for the day and made a tremendous contribution to this very worthwhile cause.
“The class themselves raised even more money through a sponsored walk and even gave up chocolate for a week (that was the hardest challenge!)
“We ran a special Zoom assembly to explain to the rest of the school who the money was being raised for and why. In our Zoom we shared keep fit ideas, had an interview with a ‘representative’ from the BHF and even showcased healthy sandwich making techniques!
“It was a fantastic effort and the whole class thoroughly enjoyed sharing their learning and doing their bit to make the world a better place! We managed to raise over £360!”
