Your votes needed to support Harry’s Hydro solar project

Harry’s Hydro, the specialist pool in the grounds of Critchill School  in Frome, has applied to Marks and Spencer’s Community Energy Fund for a grant towards the cost of installing solar panels.  The solar panels will help reduce running costs on the pool. 

The grant is in competition with three other projects in the region (Marshfield, Shaftesbury and Bristol) and whether Harry’s Hydro receives the grant is dependent upon the number of votes received.

“The grant application has been supported by Frome Town Council, and we are very hopeful of obtaining the funding which will help secure the financial future of the hydrotherapy pool,” said Peter Bennett, a trustee of the Harry’s Hydro Appeal

“Harry’s Hydro is a registered charity and operates seven days and evenings a week.  Users of the pool include residential homes for the disabled, Dorothy House hospice, day care for the disabled, various self-help groups, special needs schools, children and adults with special needs, the terminally ill, post operative patients and those suffering from arthritis, fibromyalgia and rheumatism.  There are also a number of parent and baby groups using the pool.
