The Merlin and Tri.art Theatre always have plenty going on for children and young people whether they want to sit back and watch or take part and have a go!
Weekly termly classes cover drama, dance and singing from ages 7 -16.
On a Tuesday 4.30 -6pm ages 7-12 years old is the Musical Theatre Club where students learn song and dance routines from their favourite West End shows and pop songs. They perform at the end of term to parents and friends. Places are available on this popular, new group.
Wednesday night 5 -7pm is Youth Theatre for the older age group 12-16. The company is just about to start a new project: ‘Fame The Musical’ Junior edition. Auditions will be on Wednesday 21st February 4-7pm. You will be required to sing, dance and act, although non-experienced members are welcome, and of course we need males! The performances will be 15th and 16th June.
“If acting is more your child’s thing then Saturday morning Drama Club for ages 7-12 years old would be perfect. The group meets from 10am -12pm and focuses on stage techniques and disciplines, whilst having fun creating imaginative work ready to show to parents at the end of term.
After half-term a new drama and movement group starts – ‘Tri-it’ for ages 3-6 years old on a Tuesday 4-4.45pm in the Merlin foyer. The group will focus on basic stagecraft using play, music and heaps of imagination to create stories and plays.
