LOCAL charity Wessex Counselling and Psychotherapy celebrated its 40th birthday last month and the Frome mayor, cllr Philip Campagna, trustees and supporters were invited to join in with the celebrations.
“We were delighted to welcome current counsellors, trainees, staff and trustees as well as previous graduates and associates,” said the charity. “The invitation was extended to our colleagues from other organisations and local supporters including members of Frome Rotary who have been generous in their donations towards our youth counselling and low-cost adult services.
“Frome mayor, Philip Campagna attended and talked about the rich and varied services and events we have in Frome and how the community comes together. Wessex Counselling and Psychotherapy has grown from small beginnings in 1983 to being able to offer professional, accredited and affordable counselling and psychotherapy in Frome, Bath, Bristol and Street.
“The busy counselling service runs alongside our accredited training, offering a variety of courses including a ten-week introduction to counselling skills, diploma in psychodynamic counselling, post-graduate counselling children and young people as well as a varied continuing professional development programme.
“We would like to thank the following local businesses for donating to our summer prize draw: Ellenbray, Bramble and Wild, One Stop Beauty, S&B Cinemas and Marks and Spencer.”
