What do ‘the mother’, town crier and a local allotment enthusiast have in common? They all appear in Legends of Frome, an immersive performance transforming a secret location in the centre of Frome into a mysterious and magical world in which the stories of Frome come to life through immersive theatre.
Over two months, a group of young adults have created this production from scratch at Edventure: Frome – exploring what it means to create a livelihood in the arts, whilst bringing this production to life.
Throughout the process they’re collaborated with local organisations such as Catherine House, Open Storytellers, Home in Frome, Selwood School, Frome Weavers and Frome College to gather stories and create the pieces of the puzzle that make up the performance, with a real emphasis on drawing inspiration from and working with a diverse range of local people.
During the performance, audience members will be guided on a journey of exploring local legends through sound installations, visual arts and storytelling – meeting interesting characters and engaging with it all along the way.
The performance will take place on 3rd, 4th and 5th July at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the Cheese & Grain box office or online through the Frome Festival.
