Staff and residents at a Frome care home recently presented a cheque for £560 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, the home’s nominated charity for 2016.
At Gracewell of Frome, home manager Emma Murphy and activities co-ordinator Becky Macey, amongst many other staff and friends, raised money by taking part in the sponsored Frome Fun Run.
Resident Beryl Vincent also joined in with the fundraising, receiving sponsored donations to be pushed around the fun run in her wheel chair.
On presenting the cheque at the Wiltshire Air Ambulance headquarters in Devizes, the Gracewell team and Beryl met a pilot and were shown inside the helicopter, discovering the day to day responsibilities of the crew members.
Emma Murphy, home manager said, “We had a fantastic time raising money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance service, and the amount of money we managed to raise was a great achievement for Gracewell of Frome. Presenting the cheque was a very proud moment, and it was a memorable day for everyone involved.”
