A dedicated and long-standing Frome Times deliverer, known for his contribution to the community, has died aged 73.
Chris Hill started delivering the Frome Times over 10 years ago as a way to keep healthy and active after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, which he lived with for over 14 years.
During that time Chris kept active alongside delivering the paper, going to an exercise class in Frome, a walking group and a boxing class in Radstock.
Chris also raised funds for Parkinson’s UK through sponsored walks including walking 14 miles from Bath to Frome. In 2022, he was presented with an award by the charity for raising £1,300 through his fundraising efforts.
Chris was also known for litter picking in Frome, with residents commenting on his ‘exceptional and outstanding effort’ and for being cheerful and courteous in his manner.
His funeral was held on Friday 28th November at a church in Dunkerton, where he was from.
