Local people are set to appear in the final of Britain’s Got Talent this Saturday.
Drone light company Celestial and a local farmer will take to the stage in the final of the ITV programme on Saturday 30th May.
Celestial, which produced drone shows in Frome in previous years at the Old Showfield and at the opening of Glastonbury Festival, reached the final after receiving the Group Gold Buzzer.
John Partridge from Celestial said, “That performance was all about imagination, child dreams and the people behind the scenes who help create moments for others.
“Every member of our team is from Frome or the surrounding villages, and over the years we’ve been proud to perform drone light shows for Frome as well as across the UK and around the world.
“After years of hard work, our small creative team now somehow finds ourselves representing British creativity on one of the biggest TV shows in the country in front of millions of people.”
Meanwhile, Andrew Fussell, who farms in Rode, will be singing with 33 other farmers as part of the Hawkstone Farmers Choir, set up by Jeremy Clarkson. If the choir wins the £250,000 grand prize, they have pledged to donate a significant portion to mental health charities supporting the farming community.
He said, “We are hoping that raising awareness on a huge public platform will bring this issue to the forefront. All of us feel that this issue within our industry is not talked about enough and, with the uncertainty around farming, weather, food security, banks, moneyand overdrafts, sometimes it gets too much and people should know how and where to talk.”
The final will be aired on ITV1 and ITVX at 7pm.
