Members of the armed forces community are invited to attend free drop-in sessions to meet like-minded people and get advice and support.
The regular drop-in sessions run at The Key Centre on Feltham Lane and give veterans, serving personnel and their families a chance to meet others and get advice from armed forces link workers.
Sessions include free tea and run from 1pm to 3pm. The next drop-in will take place on Monday 9th November. Further sessions will be held on Monday 21st December, 1st February, 15th March, 26th April and 7th June.
Frome Link Worker Louis Bowden said, “Armed forces outreach and drop-ins are integral in offering support to the armed forces community in Frome and surrounding areas.
“I decided to look at ways in which I could apply my experience to supporting others in a more holistic setting and in the last few years I have gained valuable experience whilst working in different support roles within Somerset.”
Louis said that more and more members of the armed forces community are now being identified and referred to the service. He said, “Frome has set the standard in respect to primary care networking. Working closely with the health connections team and other local assets has proved to be invaluable.”
