STAFF from a Frome opticians has gone crazy for coffee, taking part in a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event on 26th September, raising almost £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Specsavers in the Westway Shopping Centre offered a selection of cakes and drinks for people to sample, in return for a donation. In addition, the store also held a raffle with prizes, donated by local businesses. This included a pair of vans from Gent Street Sneakers, a bag of coffee from Coffee #1, vouchers from Eden Beauty and Coiffure, a goodie bag from Amica and a £20 gift voucher from Millers.
“The coffee morning was a fantastic success, and exceeded all expectations,’ says Specsavers Frome store director, Richard Goring. “We’d also like to thank Karen Allen, one of our team member’s sister, for all of her hard work during the fundraiser.
“Having local businesses support the Macmillan coffee morning was a bonus and we’re very grateful for their support. It was lovely to see the community come together to help us raise £269.”
