LOCAL organisation Frome Lions have regularly supported the RUH Bath Forever Friends appeals over the past 20 years and have decided that given the strain on our health service at the moment, it’s time for them to do so again.
Lion Mike Geake explains, “Across April & May, six Lions – Steve Cantrell, Adam Kotyrba, Bev Windley, Greg Wood, Sean McCabe & Chris Bailey-Green – will be climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest in two teams by going up their stairs – socially distanced of course.
“Mount Everest is 8,848 metres high which means a lot of flights of stairs will have to be climbed – something like 50 flights a day for two months per team.
“If you would like to assist Frome Lions in supporting the RUH, you can donate by visiting ‘Sofa to Summit’ fundraising appeal https://foreverfriendsappeal.enthuse.com/pf/frome-lions-2 or https://forever friendsappeal.enthuse.com/pf/frome-lions-1.”
The Forever Friends Appeal is the fundraising charity of the Royal United Hospital (RUH) Bath and raises vital funds to support a range of innovative projects and capital redevelopments. Charitable funds raised by their supporters unlock the very best in modern health care for their catchment population of more than half a million people across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire – going above and beyond the remit of the NHS.
