THE Inner Wheel Club of Frome celebrated its 25th year of the Farmers Harvest ‘Thanks Giving Service and Auction’ on Thursday 5th October at Standerwick Conference Centre with a record attendance. The charity chosen this year was Fairfield Farm College for Special Needs, Dilton Marsh.
“The service was taken by Father Clive Fairclough, the Market Chaplin, and Rotarian Kim Hyde accompanied the hymns,” said Gill Barnes, club President.
“Debbie Hughes, the charity Fund Raising Manager, gave a very interesting insight into the activities of the college and how they were fund raising for an new Equestrian Centre; their target is £150,000.
“After the service Sally Gregory provided a delicious ploughman’s supper, after which Rotarian Dennis Barnard brilliantly conducted the auction. All the goods were donated by members of the Rotary Club of Frome, Frome Inner Wheel and friends. Fairfield College also brought cakes, articles they had made and vegetables they had grown at the college – a wonderful selection which made a fantastic amount of money.
“The Frome Inner Wheel would like to thank’ everyone who attended the service, because without their support we could not have helped this very worthwhile charity.”
