LOCAL artist and illustrator, Holly Brown, is debuting her new solo show, Life and Land from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th November at The Gallery at the Station in Frome.
Holly, who has illustrated over 30 children’s books worldwide, has put together a vibrant collection of contemporary landscapes and still life paintings all individually hand framed and available to buy.
The private view is Thursday 24th November, 6.30 – 9.30pm with low impact, eco-friendly wine from Somerset based More Wine while the exhibition is open daily, 10am – 4pm, from 25th to 27th November.
Holly is a local artist and illustrator living in Frome. Having trained originally in illustration, she has had a successful 15-year career illustrating over 30 children’s picture books and is published worldwide. After the birth of her first child, Holly felt a pull to start working in the medium of oils so she brought her first easel and set of paints from Studio Art & Frame in town and she taught herself to paint with them.
She has developed passion for painting both en plein air and still life in her garden studio. Holly paints instinctively working quickly in response to the imagery of both everyday life, Somerset landscapes and coastal seascapes enriched with strategic colour and light.
She will be running courses at Makers Yard in Frome; a two-day introduction to still life in oils.
