MEMBERS of Ultimate U Fitness in Frome will be getting muddy for charity on 10th October as they take part in 12km obstacle course.
The UUF ladies decided they wanted to do something special to help raise money for Dorothy House Hospice Care but also to mark a milestone in their own personal fitness journeys.
Owner of Ultimate U Fitness Tonin Aguilera said, “We decided when entering that we would try and raise money for a charity and by a vote Dorothy House Hospice Care was the chosen charity.
“The training is going very well and they are not only preparing physically but mentally too as some of the obstacles are well out of most people’s comfort zone. They are all working so hard in the normal sessions at Ultimate U and the extra sessions and runs we are doing toward the event.
“Taking part in this event is an important milestone for the ladies who are all on their own personal weight loss and fitness journey. It is not only a physical event but a mental one too in the way that for most of them, this time last year they would never have thought to enter an event as tough as this.
“They are preparing for 10/12km of running, mud and tough obstacles and I am very proud and privileged to be a part of their journey and to be there with them for it.
“To date we have raised over a thousand pounds in both online donations and pledges which is amazing and with a few more weeks to go we hope to build on that.”
