THE temporarily closed Rodden Road Post Office will soon be re-opening, as Post Office Ltd confirm a new applicant has been found to take on the service.
The Rodden Road Post Office was based in what is now the Spar Shop and temporarily closed last year when the shop changed hands.
A spokesperson for the Post Office Ltd said, “We are pleased to announce that we have an applicant for Rodden Road Post Office in Frome. We can now confirm that the contract has now been signed with the new owner of this store. We are now finalising plans to re-open this branch and we will provide more info in the near future.
“We hope to have good news to share soon with this community as we know how important a post office is for residents and businesses.”
After the service closed on Rodden Road last year, the Portway Post Office has been the only one serving the whole of the town.
To improve this local group, Prosper Frome has been focusing its efforts on lobbying for a better post office provision in Frome, whilst trying to find a solution to its lack of banking services.
