Spellbound presents The Wizard of Oz from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th August – see front page and page 13 for full details – and this is followed by ‘Rule The World’ on Saturday 16th August, 7.30pm.
A fundraising concert for Neuroblastoma Children’s Cancer Alliance UK, ‘Rule The World’ have been recognised as the Number 1 Take That tribute act in the world. They’ve been featured on ITV’s ‘Daybreak’ and have had rave reviews from many people, including Jason Orange’s mother, and are the only Take That tribute show in the land to have ever been praised by Take That’s lead singer Gary Barlow.
Now in their 6th year of touring the band ensures an accurate portrayal and is a true impersonation of the sounds, look and feel of the sensational Take That live in concert. Featuring all the favourites including ‘Greatest Day’, ‘Back For Good’, ‘Million Love Songs’, ‘Patience’, ‘Relight My Fire’, ‘Never Forget’, ‘Shine’ and ‘Pray’.
And from another musical era, ‘Halfway To Paradise – The Billy Fury Story’ comes to the Memorial on Saturday 23rd August, 7.30pm.
Billy Fury was Britain’s own Elvis….and girls loved him! 31 years after his untimely death, Billy’s own band – his original Fury’s Tornados remember him by re-playing live his timeless 29 hit records – ‘Wondrous Place’, ‘Last Night Was Made For Love’, ‘I Will’, ‘A Thousand Stars’, ‘Jealousy’, ‘Halfway To Paradise’ and many, many more.
See Billy come alive with his Fury’s Tornados on giant screen – the atmosphere is both electric…and emotional. Colin Gold as Fury is just sensational. Introduced by Billy’s long time partner, Lisa Voice.
A delicious pre-show meal is available before both of these performances for the great value price of £12.50. Please contact the box office for details – tel: 01373 462795 – www.fromememorialtheatre.org.uk
