The Coleford Revival Group had an unexpected and surprising attendance for their show ‘Down Memory Lane’ at the Royal British Legion on Friday 5th June.
The organisers were not sure how many would come to a showing of old village photographs, an historic video and memorabilia. They had thought perhaps a 100 if they were lucky. But the Hall was surrounded by so many keen to get in that, after 240 were admitted, they had to close the doors because of safety considerations.
The audience were delighted with the fascinating display and also took the opportunity of buying the copies of the freshly re-printed village saga ‘Coleford as ‘twere’. Copies at £8 each may still be ordered by phone if you wish, tel: 01373 813713.
It has been decided to arrange for a re-run of the show and the hall has been booked for Friday 26th June at 7.00pm. Many who came want to come and see it all again, so if you want to be sure of a place, the organisers would advise that you come early.
Both Kevin Price and Keith Wadley of the CRG, who staged the show, are grateful for all the messages of support they have received.
