Frome Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team is to launch a new initiative to be more accessible to rural communities, bringing a mobile police post to more rural villages, for beat surgeries.
Police officer, John Gould from the Frome Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team said, “We have been told by our rural communities that they feel neglected, don’t see police and the towns get all the resources.
“Often they feel that issues affecting them may not be worth coming into Frome to report or they are frustrated by the 101 system. More vulnerable members of the community, especially the elderly, often don’t have access to transport or the internet.
“We have listened and will trial utilising our mobile police post to visit your village.
“The Rural Neighbourhood Team has selected Coleford as particularly in need of this service. Our mobile police post will be in the car park of The Legion, Anchor Road, Coleford on Monday 22nd January from 10am until 2pm; and on Tuesday 13th February from 4pm until 7pm. Other dates and venues will be announced later. Pop by for a chat, you’ll be welcome.”
