CHOCOHOLICS get ready for the 4th Annual Lip Smacking Chocolate Festival on Sunday 17th November, at the new look Cheese & Grain.
Once again the festival will see the return of the best companies from across the Southwest and beyond, including multi-award winning and recently crowned BBC Good Food Champions 2013, Lick The Spoon.
With the whole venue becoming a giant Pop-up café for the day, you can shop for inspired Christmas gifts before dropping into a relaxing chair to recharge with a Marimba Hot Chocolate made using single origin chocolate flakes and organic Jersey milk, or an artisan coffee from Easy José. José Melim, (UK Barista Champion for the Southwest), will be making coffees and his latte art is world class. For an exotic touch, there’s luxury milkshakes and bubble tea, the new craze sweeping the world.
Lunch takes on a savoury chocolate theme with The Old Bakery Supper Club cooking up a storm. Or, if raw food is your preference then Bristol-based Rawsome has delicious savouries and desserts and Elements For Life serving up their famous raw brownies.
Spokesperson, Jo Harrington said, “For an event outside of a major city we are attracting amazing producers and gaining a national reputation. For example, one of our new exhibitors ‘The Chocolatier’ is leading the way with hot water ganaches and supplies Michelin-starred restaurants.
“Aneesh has recently been very high profile in the national press and was the star turn at The Eden Project, during National Chocolate Week. It’s an honour to have such prestigious companies attending and an excellent opportunity to meet the makers, find products not on the high street and indulge in some affordable luxury.”
With a carnival atmosphere and something to please everyone – the high octane World Record Curly Wurly Stretching Competition, cupcake decorating, PAC charity raffles, Limerick writing and much more, it’s a marvellous day out.
Entry £2, ‘under 12s’ free, ‘under 16s’ must be accompanied by an adult, from 10.00am – 4.00pm. Check out www.lipsmacking.co.uk for more information.
