Frome RFC welcomed back many old faces on Wednesday 27th December for its Annual Town v Gown Paul Lovatt Cup.
An always hotly-contested game, which was fully supported from the sidelines saw the Home ‘Town XV’ come out eventual winners in a high scoring contest 63 – 48 and the final whistle being blown just before the visibility went due to the thick fog.
Town XV Captain Geoff Taylor said, “It’s always a hugely-anticipated fixture during the festive period and great to see so many familiar faces. I’d like to say thank you to all the players and supporters for coming along and hope they enjoyed a fantastically spirited game.
“The fixture wouldn’t go ahead without the volunteers during the build up and on the day so thank you to them also.”
The club was in full festive spirits during the day the game with a packed clubhouse afterwards hosting raffles, karaoke and Christmas sing songs.
