FROME boxer Ryan Wheeler ended his fifth professional fight with another convincing victory last month.
Ryan, nicknamed the ‘Somerset Stallion’, made his third appearance since signing for trainer Chris Sanigar on Wednesday 20th April. The local lightweight prospect produced a polished performance to comprehensively out-point Reading’s Ibrar Riyaz, winning all four rounds.
Southpaw Wheeler unleashed some punishing body shots and consistently rocked Riyaz back on his heels with sweetly-timed combinations to the body and head.
After the fight Wheeler said, “I felt comfortable and in control throughout the fight with everything going according to plan, I was able to gain four more rounds of experience in the ring which is helping me develop my skills in all areas.
“I would like to thank all the people that came over to Bristol to watch me; the support was truly immense and greatly appreciated. I’d also like to thank all of my sponsors, these are: Clive Lewis, Rodden Road Cars, Kennedy Electrical, DC Gym Wear and Connor Construction and Red Falcon Project. I’d also like to thank The Train Station Gym and Elevation Boxing Academy, as well as my coach and support team at the Bristol Boxing Gym who continue to improve me as a boxer.”
Wheeler hopes his next fight won’t be far away as he continues to climb the professional rankings and is very keen to step back in the ring as soon as possible. For further details on Ryan and updates on his next fight you can visit www.1ryanwheeler.com
