THE Woolverton Gallery at Woolverton is playing host to an exhibition of figurative and abstract paintings by Brian Baxter and Lynn Baxter, from December through February.
“Like Nature, Like Paint”, will be a constantly changing show of works by the two Great Elm-based artists.
“Our shared fascination with painting, the natural world, landscape and the life of the imagination produces very different but compatible results,” Lynn says. “Brian is renowned for his free treatment of the wildlife subjects he loves, in which he conveys through paint the energy and life of living things. My own works abstract the essence of the subject, whether it is the natural or the man-made environment.”
Brian has over 700 works in private and public collections and Lynn, who is also an award-winning sculptor, has a strong following for her abstract works.
The new gallery with a growing reputation is open daily from 9 – 5. Details are available from Ray Jones, 01373 463098 (bathartsales.com; BA2 7RH).
