A LOCAL author is holding a talk in Frome this week, when he will talk about his new novel exploring life as the parent of an autistic child.
Frome man Keith Stuart, who works as games editor at The Guardian, has written the book inspired by the effect the computer game ‘Minecraft’ has had on his own autistic son.
‘A Boy Made of Blocks’ follows a fragmented family who try to reconnect when the son, Sam, starts to play ‘Minecraft’.
Keith will be giving a free talk on his novel at Hunting Raven Books on Cheap Street, from 7pm on Thursday 22nd September.
Publisher Little Brown says, “‘A Boy Made of Blocks’ is an astonishingly authentic story of love, family and autism and is based on the author’s own experiences with his autistic son, Zac.
“This wonderful life affirming debut was a sensation at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2015, with rights sold in 23 territories and counting.
“Fans of About a Boy, Us and The Rosie Project will love this heart-warming, heart-breaking & wonderfully funny debut from an exceptionally talented new writer.”
