POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured in an incident in Frome.
Police report, “Officers were called at 9.10pm on Thursday 12th August by witnesses reporting an altercation involving four men, one of whom was armed with an axe.
“Three men were reportedly attacking a fourth but made off from the scene in Feltham Drive past the Co-op store on Culver Hill. All involved were said to be white adults.
“A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
“One man remains in police custody today, Friday 13th August, following his arrest last night.
“While our investigation is at an early stage, it appears this was a targeted incident and we don’t believe there to be a risk to the wider community.
“The investigation continues and there will be an increased police presence in the area today as officers carry out their enquiries. We’re grateful to everyone who called to report the incident and especially those who went to help the injured man.
